Stephen McClure serves as Chief Executive Officer of The Spectrum Companies, a fully integrated real estate firm focused on the development, investment, and management of commercial and mixed-use properties across the Southeast. In his role, he leads the firm’s strategy across development, capital deployment, asset management, and operations, overseeing a portfolio valued at more than $2 billion.

Over more than two decades with Spectrum, Steve has played a key role in shaping and executing large-scale development initiatives across office, multifamily, hospitality, and mixed-use platforms. His experience spans the full lifecycle of real estate—from sourcing opportunities and capital structuring to development execution and long-term asset performance—providing a comprehensive perspective on how projects perform across changing market conditions.

Under his leadership, Spectrum has developed more than two million square feet of office space and over 7,000 multifamily units, including transformative projects such as 300 South Tryon, the Kimpton Tryon Park Hotel, and Vantage South End. The latter was recognized with the 2024 City Builder Award by Charlotte Center City Partners for its impact on the city’s urban growth and connectivity. Internally, he is known for building aligned, high-performing teams and for establishing a clear organizational vision centered on long-term stewardship.

Steve joined Spectrum in 2004 as an office leasing broker before leading the firm’s residential division, serving as Chief Operating Officer, and ultimately being named Chief Executive Officer in 2021. He has also been instrumental in establishing Spectrum’s vision and founded Spectrum Cares, the company’s charitable initiative supporting communities throughout its markets.
